Rehabilitation Services

Queen's Rehabilitation Services provides Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Audiology. All services are initiated by a physician's order and are available 7 days a week for inpatients.

Evaluation and treatment include, but are not limited to:
  • Speech, language, and voice services
  • Cognitive - communication services
  • Aphasia
  • Swallowing services
  • Communication with tracheostomy
  • Transfer/gait training
  • Wheelchair mobility training
  • Balance training
  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Manual Therapy
  • Physical agents and mechanical modalities
  • Activities of daily living
  • Splint fabrication
  • Equipment recommendations
  • Patient/family/caregiver education
Rehabilitation Services treats patients in the Intensive Care Units (ICU), Telemetry, the Medical/Surgical floors, Queen's Skilled Nursing Facility, the Outpatient Clinic (POB II, ground floor) and the Women's Health Center.

Outpatient services are provided by Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Outpatient therapy in the Women's Health Center can treat lymphedema, post breast cancer surgery, incontinence, pelvic pain, osteoporosis, pregnancy and post-partum related problems.
